Kevin,

ECS keeps the phone numbers (there's usually at least two of them) in a data
area, QESTELE in QUSRSYS. There's a simple maintenance program to it that
you use by CALL QESPHONE - it just retrieves the current values, then
displays them for update one at a time.

Hi all,

I recently upgraded our phone systems here dropping 17 different phone lines
in
favor of a T1 for local service.
As a result of this all calls to the outside world require a 9 for an
outside
line.

I'm trying to change my QESCTL to reflect this change. The system changes
it
back. I did a retrieve source, changed the number in the source, compiled
the
program, deleted the controller and device, ran the program recreating the
new
controller and device. At this point if I look at the controller description
is
shows the 9, added to the number, but when I try to connect, the system
changes
it back.

I can work around this by hanging a phone off the modem, dialing 9 and when
I
get a dial tone, send the request and hang up. This requires much dexterity
and
hopping around my computer room resulting in snickers and outright laughter
from
any onlookers.

My systems are at V4R2 and V4R3 and I have the 7852 model 400 modem on each.

Thanks in Advance!
