I know the point you are trying to make Rob and don't disagree with it, BUT 
couldn't reset
this...

Just ANOTHER testament to the AS/400 and OS/400's greatness - you CAN still run 
those older
versions (not saying you aren't missing out on a TON of good stuff !!).

But with MS products (ESPECIALLY the OS's) you are usually at your WITS end by 
the time they
FINALLY come out with the "stable" new release. From my days in the PC and LAN 
trenches (along
with the AS/400) I well remember getting Win 3.1/WFW to run PC Support and be 
able to do
ANYTHING else (ACTUALLY got this working !!!) and all those hassles. There was 
NO WAY we missed
that. Of courese we skipped 95 and went straight to NT... Point being that 
OS/400 with all
current PTF's is light years ahead of most other OS's so in a way it's its' own 
worst enemy <BG>
