HELP!! FTP has a major glitch!!!

On the AS/400 server you have the ability to reset the inactivity and the
transfer time-out values, please see below:

quote time 25 25 (this will reset the inactivity value and the transfer value to
25 seconds on the server)

BUT!!! You can't do this on the FTP client, so if your connection breaks the
client will hang for 600 seconds(10 Minutes)!!!!!, and you can't
reset the values as far as I know.... !!

Now I have this SUN/Unix throwing this in my face!! because every time our
AS/400 FTP client hangs so does our web site for 10 MINUTES!!!!!

If someone knows how to reset these time-out values... PLEASE respond ASAP...

That includes YOU IBM!!!
