Ron, one big advantage with system() is that it doesn't leave the final
error message in the joblog.  A big disadvantage is that it doesn't
leave the final exception message in the joblog.  It's great for
say DLTF because you don't want to clean up the message that says the
file doesn't exist, but it can make it difficult to debug other problems,
because the only information you can get about the final exception
is the message id.

Another advantage of system is that it uses a null-terminated string,
so you don't have to worry about a length parameter.
