It's not true.  WRKDSKSTS DOES show mirrored drives.

Unlikely.  I cannot figure an AS/400 running without severe problems with
ASP 1 filled at, say,  99.7%.  BTW, F11 on the WRDSKSTS gives the ASP info.
IMHO, this system has only 1 ASP, and STRASPBAL would be beneficial (V4R4).
If V4R3, DSKBAL will do the job, or save/save/delete/restore on earlier
VxRy.
As far as I know, if permanent allocations will take place on drives 7,8,9
(with perhaps some exceptions), it's certainly not true for temporary
allocations: these use a round-robin algorithm (to avoid potential %busy
bottlenecks), and the net result is: the disks with a very high %used can
be filled.
