Title: RE: Alphanumeric field sometimes goes into Excel as hex; sometimes not.

It has to do with the CCSID of the files, what are they?

When one of our users downloads a query into an Excel spreadsheet, the
alphanumeric item number field shows as hex.  This field is from a query
database file (let's say file A), and the physical file looks the same on
the AS/400 as another file (let's say file B).

We are running Client Access Express on a 620-9406 with the V4R4 O/S and
upgraded our ERP package (MAPICS) in June.

Why is this field showing up as hex in Excel from file A but not file B?
