Unless you need to have all 9 open at the same time you could try using
printer file overrides and opening and closing them as needed.

        Subject: Max 8 prtf's in a RPG pgm ?

        Hi there,

Apparently there is a limit of 8 printer files allowed in a RPG
program. I
have a program that needs to use 9 (possibly more). Any ideas on how
to
achieve this (other than duplicating and splitting the process into
2
        programs).

        TIA.

        Kevin Corcoran.
