FWIW,

We use trackpoint(TM) keyboards on all our PCs for similar reasons.  Mice seem 
to be the 
killer.  My Mother spent most of her working life as a typist (manual, IBM 
selectric, 
word-processors, etc) with no trouble at all (unless you count the odd 
flattening of the 
finger pads due to the pressure required by the old manual typewriters).  My 
partner has 
a shoulder problem exacerbated by the mouse which is much less of a prblem 
using the 
trackpoint.

IBM used to be only source for these keyboards but I think they sold the rights 
to 
Unicomp (http://www.pckeyboard.com/).  They also have the good old solid 
reliable tactile 
keyboards available.
