There is a sample of a CL at
http://www.netshare400.com/cgi-bin/DSPSAMP?file=QCLSRC&mbr=GETIPADR
that  gets the IP address.

It is probably because user's PC's do not have an FTP server on them. A way
I have seen to kind a get around this is to allow them to FTP to a server
that they have a mapped drive to.
