Eric,

The URL would seem to indicate that it is a V4R4 tip, and you said you were
on V4R3. I know the footnote says it will start automatically when QSERVER
is started, but my experience has been that it does not.

Hope this helps.

Regarding netserver, here's the documentation I see that says it
     starts automatically:

     http://www.as400.ibm.com/netserver/v4r4tips/indexp2.htm

     http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr/bookmgr.cmd/BOOKS/QB3
     AE201/7.21?ACTION=MATCHES&REQUEST=netserver+start&TYPE=FUZZY&search
     Topic=TOPIC&searchText=TEXT&searchIndex=INDEX&rank=RANK&ScrollTOP=F
     IRSTHIT#FIRSTHIT

I see in our startup program that we're starting QSERVER subsystem
before STRTCP. I'll try changing that on the devo box and see if it
     works.

Regarding the exit point issue, thank you very much. We do indeed
have QGPL *and* QUSRSYS backlevel. We'll get IBM on this one.

     regards,
     eric.delong@pmsi-services.com

Eric,

I do not think that NetServer will start automatically on a V4R3 system.
We start ours in our QSTRUP program with this line:

 CALL PGM(QZLSSTRS) PARM('0' X'00000000')

Also, we had a similar problem with the exit point. It was because our
QGPL and QUSRSYS were "back-leveled". Do a GO LICPGM option 10 and see if
they show up in error. You have to contact IBM for help on resolving this
problem.

Hope this helps.
