  • Subject: anyone using DCE time services?

I was wondering if anyone is using DCE to synchronize the system
time between a bunch of AS/400 machines? From my reading, it looks
like the DCE specification has some pretty simple solutions to some
pretty gnarly time problems.

And if anyone knows -- Is this stuff still available? Supported?

And do you need a DOD budget to be able to afford it?

IBM Distributed Computing Environment (DCE) Base Services for AS/400 Version
4 Release 3, 5769-DC1

Distributed Computing Environment (DCE) Base Services for OS/400 increases
distributed computing in the open systems environment for the AS/400. It
includes the basic DCE services:

Remote Procedure Call
Cell Directory Client function
Security Client function
Time Services
