In Midrange Computing's Monday Morning Update Fax/e-mail there was an add for 
Presto 1234.  If I remember, this product converted spool files to .CSV 
files, HTML, PDF, TXT.  It also solved your problem by converting physical 
files to .CSV files.  I would assume that you would be able to select the 
number of records you wanted from the file to be converted into a .CVS file.  
Check out www.paeinc.com.  Just found their fax.
