Title: RE: Upgrading from 620 v4r2 to 720 v4r4

After upgrading your FTP server (if it is up and running right now) may not restart automaticaly.  If the server's joblog says something like "Exception CPF3CDB occurred when trying to get information for exit point QIBM_QTMF_SVR_LOGON with format name TCPL0200.".  That's a problem that comes up sometimes when upgrading to V4R4.  To solve that problem you have to reset the exit points by coping this command on the AS400 command prompt :

CALL PGM(QTCP/QTMFEXIT) PARM('*INSTALL  ') ==> Don't forget the two blank spaces after "*INSTALL".

Objet : Upgrading from 620 v4r2 to 720 v4r4

Hello all,

We will be upgrading our 620 v4r2 to a 720 v4r4 this weekend (requiring
processor upgrade and disk/memory upgrade).

Basic plans are to back-up entire system, upgrade existing 620 to v4r4,
perform hardware upgrade to 720, configure raid, and install BRMS.

We are running Client Access v3r2, use Novell NetWare SAA Gateway for
Hostprint/400 printing, use FAX/400, and run Infinium software and TL
Ashford software.

Believe we've checked everything out (including cumulative and group
PTFs), but so much for believing!

Has anyone performed something similar and knows of any "gottchas"?

Thank you,

Cynthia
