I recently placed an order for B11 toE11 3590s. What that equates to is a remove the old B11 drive & enclosure and a replace with a new model E11 drive, at a very cheap cost. At the time we were looking at the upgrade the delivery time was 7 - 14 days. In less then 2 weeks, the delivery dates on upgrades and new 3590 E11s are out in 2001 " Manufacturing Resource Constrained" is the terms they used after great difficulty processing the upgrade do to IBM system MAT errors.

Net is when they get here there is significant savings all around (i.e.capacity, volume & throughput for data on fewer tapes, lower back up time etc. ) You need one of the newer models 7xx and above to drive it at rated capacity.

The 3590 E11 is a GREAT Choice.
