Dawn,

Are the 4234's the SAME model ?

Be sure to check how they are configured on the AS/400 - do they both show as the same (Type) ?

We use the 4234 but I have not seen this problem with it.

We also use the 4230's and I HAVE seen this happen with them when for instance a 4230-102 "dies" and is replaced with a 4230-101. The 102 configures on the AS/400 as an IPDS while the 101 configures as a 4214

The configuration on both systems are identicle.  Is there some kind of hardware physical configuration on the printer that I could change?  TIA
