Jon, these guys make things so hard to do. The instructions included are
ambiguous at best, misleading at worst. There are several ways to put
this information on an AS/400 and this method has to be the most archaic
of all. (Incidentally I did follow these instructions exactly and the
file did not FTP.)

In any event it does assure that the only participants will be the subset
of folks that use *SAVF to move data.

"Running the DDS survey tool

Use the following instructions to install and run the DDS survey tool:

1.On an AS/400 command line, create *SAVF
2.FTP the file included in this package to *SAVF as follows:

    ftp hostname
    (logon)
    bin
    put survey.savf lib/savf"

Take a look at IBM's VARPG/Code400 web site
(www.software.ibm.com/ad/varpg)
and look for information on what they are calling Webfacing. They are
looking for software vendors to "test drive" just such a tool.

There is also a piece by Dave Slater in July's AS/400 Magazine on the new
ADTS Tools packaging. There is a particularly interesting piece in there
that indicates IBM's intention to ship _all_ the current compilers as a
package - no promise but it's hopful!!
