Booth,

there's a pretty handy redbook "More cool things to do with your AS/400 on 
the internet" (or something like that) that has detailed instructions on 
how to do this. I got it up and running in a couple of hours including 
finding phone jacks, cables modems etc.

The only thing I had problems with was starting the PPP job automatically. 
All the Oops navigator stuff  indicated it would start automatically at 
IPL, but in practise seemed to really mean that the line would be online at 
IPL. I added a STRTCPPTP (you should check that - I'm operating from 
"random memory" here) to add start the connection automatically.
