  • Subject: CPF9838 : User profile storage limit exceeded.
  • From: "Bull, Jeff" <BullJ1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi all,
I am getting the following message in the writer's joblog (outq is
called COLOSSUS) ; the user has 4MB of free space (according to DSPUSRPRF).
Is this message serious ? It prevents the user from printing - the Splf
gets set to HLD. I have ended the (remote) writer and re-started it, no
change. I have got round the problem temporarily by creating a user profile
also called colossus, specifying the userprf OUTQ as colossus. If the user
'sends' (option 1) the spoolfiles TOUSRID((COLOSSUS SH)), the splfs get
printed, though even this failed with the same error initially - I had to
set userprf colossus to MAXSTG(*NOMAX).

Bug or feature ? Our AS/400 is running v4r3 and is up to date with
its PTFs.

Message . . . . : User profile storage limit exceeded.

Cause . . . . . : The storage limit for user profile WATSONF1 is not large

enough to create or change object LPRDATA000 in library QTEMP, type
*USRSPC.
If the object type is *N, the object is an internal object used by the

  system.

Recovery . . . : Increase the storage limit (MAXSTG parameter on the

CHGUSRPRF command), then try the request again. The storage limit can be

increased by the security officer, or by the user if authorized to the

  command.

Kind regards,
Jeff Bull.
