RE: QINTER subsystem locking up

Haven't had this problem.  Our biggest machine is a 730-2C6E with 
8.192GB of memory with 1.750GB for *INTERACT and 272 jobs currently 
under QINTER.  Current CPU utilization is at 14%.  We are at V4R4, 
cum 00049.  Max active for QINTER is set at *NOMAX, but for it's 
pool, it's 3,500.  It's a freak if this guy hit's 40%.  And that was 
before we doubled the number of processors and added a ton of memory.  
Disk is at 65%.  But, we don't consider running at 100% normal.  Boss 
uses the management central part of Op's Nav and is constantly 
charting this system.

Our developers have a S20-2163 with 768mb of memory with 92mb for 
*INTERACT and 32 jobs currently under QINTER. Current CPU utilization 
is at 26.6%.  That is also at V4R4, cum 00049.  Max active for QINTER 
is set at *NOMAX, but for it's pool, it's 75.

Hi,

        I have come across a similar problem, unexplained seizure of QINTER and
various other problems. The way I worked around this problem was to create
multiple QINTER subsystems as QINTERVxxx which are clones of QINTER. In each
of these subsystems I have Device name entries for QPADEV000*, QPADEV001*,
QPADEV002* e.t.c i.e QINTERV001 has QPADEV001 to QPADEV009 access. This has
allowed us to load balance and if problems occur (Which they have not since)
then it only affects 10 users at a time. It has other benefits too i.e. the
subsystems start a LOT quicker....

Can someone please wave a magic wand ?

My Qinter subsystem monitor keeps locking, client access sessions won't
start, active sessions hang or drop out; the processor is at 100% normally
so that's no clue.  It seems that if I sign on at the console (DSP01 in
QCTL) I can see the joblog of the Qinter sbs mon job, it is nearly always
reporting a combination of CPF1195, CPF4128, CPF5263, CPF5170 messages.  I'm
fully up to date with group PTFs and CumPTF level.

I am running a 510-2143, V4R3 system, 768MB memory (*INTERACT has 378000K).
There are no twinax devices, they are all client access and QPADEV* sessions
(160 ish of them).

I have worked on the problem with Assist/400, but other than PTFs, I got no
fix.

Has anyone else experienced this infuriating problem, and got a fix ?
