  • Subject: Re: Archiving AS/400 Reports to PC files

Dear Leo,

I think that the best format for distributing AS/400 spooled-files to PC
users is the Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). You can find free ware &
share ware on the net that will let you create your own solution for
converting spooled-files to PDF. For instance there was an article in
NEWS/400 about a Java class and Thomas Merz has a "C" library that can run
on the AS/400 (PDFlib.com) Bradley Stone also has shareware that can do
this conversion for you.

There are also commercial solutions available from Gumbo, RJS , Robot and
others that may meet your needs. May I suggest you look at "PDFingMailer"
http://www.PDFing.com first?

Regards

David Fowle
