Hello Jessica,

Having just gone through similar pain this is a case of ensuring the latest
PTFS are
installed. Your Cume tape is a little old but the important PTFs for this
situation are
the following group PTFs:

        SF99026 HTTP Server
        SF99027 WebSphere
        SF99067 Java
        SF99104 Database

Each of these PTFs will create a data area with the name of the PTF in the
respective
product's library which contains information about the level of the Group PTF.
You can
use this value to determine whether you are current or not.

        QHTTPSVR HTTP Server
        QAPPSVR WebSphere
        QJAVA Java
        QSYS Database

     'Group PTF#: SF99026-03 V4R4M0 January 6, 2000 '
     'Group PTF#: SF99027-04 V4R4M0 12/01/1999 '
     'Group PTF#: SF99067-04 V4R4M0 11/29/1999 '
     'Group PTF#: SF99104-08 V4R4M0 03/21/2000 '

Also determine the job description used by the server instance and ensure it's
set to
LOG(4 0 *SECLVL) so you get a joblog even for normal completion.

There are other things you can do to check the WebSphere logs. I can't
remember the
settings off-hand but check the /QIBM/ProdData/IBMWebAS/logs directory for
information.

Don't you just love all this Unix crap coming on to the AS/400? Heaven help us
when PASE
grabs the vendor's attention!

Regards,
Simon Coulter.
