Yep... that is where the power switch is...
and the normal "console" screen with the usual setting ...
The key is inserted and allows you to go into "manual" mode

It can be agravating to open(Unless it's locked)
I forget the correct way it swings....

It is similar in operation but it does require a little practice to
use..
ex: 1= select type of ipl, etc,etc,

You really need to get a copy of manual for common operations...
or get on the web and goto online books and find the manual 
As/400 Basic Operations & Administration which has diagrams for all
control panels including the model 500....

There are Never any stupid questions....
