Hi Dale,

One approach would be to automate the transfer of files from the AS/400
to the web server and have it initiated from the AS/400, but not allow
any inbound FTP transfers. This way you won't need to open an in-bound
connection through the firewall to the AS/400.

If the web server is on the internet so that the authentication and data
are going to travel in the open you might want to consider putting a VPN
solution between you and the web server. This will make the entire
transfer encrypted.

The Renex FTP server, combined with their FTP SSL Client, will secure a
Windows connection to an FTP server, whether on the Internet or on the
AS/400. We recently signed up to sell this product and it works very
nicely. I'm not sure if it will do exactly what you want, though, as it
requires the Windows client software to initiate the connection. It
sounds more like you want to push the files to the server from the
AS/400?
