 There should be a set of installation instructions with the IBM CUME. For
the past several releases, there is a point in the CUME installation
instructions where IBM provides for other PTF's (such as the HIPER group CD
or PTF's downloaded via ECS such as you indicated in your note). In my
experience, the group PTF's also have installation instructions that allow
for installing with the CUME or other PTF's. The CUME also will direct you
to the "Preventative Service Planning" (PSP) PTF which indicates if there
are PTF's to omit from the CUME (very important to check BEFORE getting
going!).
 I always work down through the instructions, checking them off as I go --
and have very few problems with CUME + other PTF's being installed.
