  • Subject: Joblog question
  • From: Jim Knight <jknight@xxxxxxx>

We have a package that all of the files are set to WAIT(*NOMAX)
and the interactive jobs are locking records that batch jobs are
trying to update. They would like a solution that does not ( I strongly
disagree with this solution) require the vendor/programmers to change the
existing code to monitor for the error.

CPF5027 Record 1 in use by job nnnnnn/xxxxxxxxx/xxxxxxxxxx.

Is there a way to receive information from another job's joblog so we get the
message in ROBOT/CONSOLE, initiate a ROBOT job that can interrogate the
joblog of the batch job, to send a message to the interactive job???

TIA
