I saved a directory to a save file with:
SAV DEV('/qsys.lib/temp.lib/temp.file')
    OBJ(('/home/chrisb/*'))
    OUTPUT(*print)
where temp is a save file in library temp.

then restored one of the objects with:
RST DEV('/qsys.lib/temp.lib/temp.file') OBJ((trns.fdf))

and it worked. V4R3 lasted Cums applied.

Subject: Restoring from a Save file

Hi

 Type options, press Enter.
5=Display objects in subdirectory 8=Display object specific information

Opt Object Type Owner Size Data
      doc *DIR XML 39424 Yes
      include *DIR XML 34816 Yes

Bottom
 F3=Exit   F11=Display names only   F12=Cancel   F16=Display header

Its in a save file XMLHDRSDOC in library MIKE ao I've been trying all combos
of
:

RST DEV('/qsys.lib/mike.lib/xmlhdrsdoc.file')
