Kenneth,

We've had problems since going to V4R4. I can tell you what I've heard
second hand since I haven't talked to IBM directly about this. V4R4 data
base uses terabytes for index spaces. Prior releases used 4 megabytes. I'm
told that if you have programs that use newly created files that have the
terabyte limitation and files that have the 4 megabtye limitation that
response time can be a problem. I don't know if this is true or not but you
might check it out. The solution is supposed to be to rebuild the access
paths on all the old files. (We have not yet done this as it would consume a
ton of time). We also had a lot of damaged objects for some unknown reason
and had to do a reclaim storage. That seemed to help.
