One concept is the following:

LAN---->Firewall----->ring or ethernet--->web AS/400---->router---->Internet
^                                            ^
|                                            |
Business 400 using appc----------------------|

Both of these 400's would have two cards. 1 for
LAN/TCPIP and one for LAN/APPC.
And then the only point of the Firewall is to support
your users who browse the web, and maybe email. All
400/400 comm could be appc. One solution talked about
last week at COMMON.

Subject:        AS/400 Multiple Ethernet Controllers

Hi,

I'm curious to know the advantages of having more than 1 Lan Card in an AS/400
system. What usage of this could be beneficial to a company, IS dept etc?

Thanks,

Dare
