The Model 500 puts out too much heat for home use.

Why would the Model 500 puts out too much heat for home use when a
search of the IBM sales manual says it only uses a 400w power supply and it
is not much larger in size than my current E20?

I have a 300 single tower machine running in my office at home.
Unfortunately the master thermostat for the house is guess where.... When
the machine is up and running I the temp in that room will easily reach 90
degrees (14x12 room). In order to regulate the heat in the house I have to
open a window and set the thermostat at about 85 to keep the rest of the
house at 72.

I haven't had this machine running in summer yet, I don't want to think
about the air conditioning bill..........

My E02 used to raise the temp in that room about 3 degrees.

Your 500 may only pull 400 watts, but I think almost all of that turns to
excess heat.

Jim
