I've seen this problem with shares also. Is there a way to:
1) Initiate the ftp session from the server upon which the share
    resides, or,
2) Load the standard FTP server on the PC containing the share
and have the 400 pull the file from the PC server?

Subject: FTP - 400 to PC

I'm having trouble with something very simple:

FTP from mainframe to AS/400 - works great. Check log file via CL & all
that.
Want to FTP file to shared H drive on a PC server.

I can start an FTP session & log on to the server just fine; I cannot get
to directories. DIR & LS come back empty. Things like H:\Apptpak\download
are rejected - not found or invalid.

It's gotta be something blindingly obvious but I just can't see it.
Anybody got any suggestions??
