Patrick,

I ran some tests on our system.  Read 170M, IFS 4 minutes, Netware Volume 2 
minutes, hard-drive 45 seconds. This was not a scientific test and could have 
been affected by network traffic.

Yes, I certainly agree that there are many benefits of having the IFS
available including the back up option! We take advantage of this
ourselves. My concern is that IBM is selling this box as a server. And
one aspect of a server is the ability to run server-based tasks
efficiently. And it looks to me like the AS/400 is not up to the task in
this area. Don't get me wrong, I'm an AS/400 bigot. I'm just
disappointed in what I'm seeing so far in IFS file system performance.
