Thanks for the idea. It is a TCP/IP connection. I can't find a INACTTIMO 
parameter on the CHGTELNA command. I'm assuming you meant the TIMMRKTIMO 
parameter. It is currently set to 0.

First off, is this TCP/IP?  If so check the inactivity timer on the TELNET
server and make sure it is zero.. ( CHGTELNA  INACTTIMO(0))  Many folks get
this parameter wrong about what its function is.  It is likely been set to
5 minutes or less.

If this is not TCP/IP and it's client access, you may be having the comm
line drop on you.  Are there any messages in QSYSOPR, QSYSMSG or the
history log?
