Hey Dave,
To connect a S36 to AS/400 you need to establish a link between those two
machines:
you can use an modem connection over RTC or X25 , or a TKR connection.
You cannot use a TCP/IP connection (not available in S36)
in all case you need to configure ICF location and session (CNFIGICF on S36)
I did it last year, if you need more information i will look after my notes
