I think you're spinning your wheels on this one.

Someone may correct me if I am wrong but I propose the following.
1)  Superceeded PTF's don't take up any additional space, except 
the minute space they take up to appear on the list.
2)  If I download a single PTF and put it on my system, and it 
superceeds 5 other PTF's, then all 5 will be listed as superceeded 
even though I've neither ordered, loaded or applied them,  and 
I've only received a single save file named for the original ordered 
PTF.  There is just some header area in the PTF that lists superceeded
PTF's.

One way to consider saving space on PTF's is to do the following.
1)  ASSUMPTION:  You bring your 400 down on a periodic basis - 
such as every other fiscal period like we do.
2)  APYPTF LICPGM(*ALL) APY(*PERM) DELAYED(*YES).  This will give you the
most space.  Because thousands of objects in your libraries will go bye bye.
Why?  Stay tuned for the next caution.  Caution:  Only run this after your
reasonably sure that your PTF's are good.  In our case we wait every 
other fiscal period, (8 weeks).  Otherwise you will not be able to do a RMVPTF.
3)  DLTF QGPL/QSF*  These two commands will gain you some space if you are
in the habit of downloading PTF's electronically.
4)  DLTF QGPL/QMF*
The rest of the commands won't gain you space, (unless there is a cool
fix) however it will keep you current in PTF's.
5)  Load and apply CUM CD, allowing it to IPL.  Too much at once 
and you'll get a link loader error and get to do a full restore 
on your system.
6)  Load and apply Hiper CD, skip the IPL.
7)  Load and apply the latest service pack CD for Client Access.  Skip IPL
8)  Load and apply the CD with the group ptf for Y2k.  (yes, it 
is STILL being updated!).  Skip IPL
9)  Load and apply the CD with the group ptf for database.  Skip IPL
10)  Load and apply any remaining group PTF CD's you ordered.  These 
may include:  Performance Tools, Domino, BRMS, etc.  Skip the IPL
11)  PWRDWNSYS *IMMED RESTART(*YES) IPLSRC(B)

Hello all

  Have a very simple question reagrding Superseded PTF (s).

  Is it safe to remove permanently all Superseded PTF (s) using the RMVPTF
command ?

  I am planning to run a Copy of PTF to Tape of all Superseded PTF (s)
using the
  CPYPTF command.

  The other question is How do I Restore From Tape ? ... Just In case ..
