QBASE was supplied I suspect to make System36 users
feel at home as this is how that machine worked.

The QCTL subsystem was supplied as the default for System 38
machines & allows a better control of system resources for
Interactive and Batch jobs.

Subject: QBASE - QCTL

Hello all,
I would like to ask for your opinion about controlling subsystems - which is
better to use. Even guys from IBM couldn't give me clear answer.
I definitely prefer QCTL but no one was able to explain me why use QBASE
except simplicity (simplicity without possibility :) ).
I work on AS/400 5 years and always use QCTL on every machine. My opinion is
that you have larger scale of possibilities how to configure your system.

TIA,

Erik
