Perhaps I was thinking of the model 400? This was a while ago that I was
looking. I vaguely recall that one of those black boxes was v4 capable.
Model 2069 sticks in my mind, but I wouldn't swear to it.... Anyway, I'm
happy with the 170, and I needed the extra horsepower compared to the 400
(?) I was looking at.

Sorry if I screwed up the model numbers.... Thanks for correcting me.

David,

The 300 is a CISC machine, so won't run V4 software. And all the 300
models (2040, 2041, and 2042) are in the P20 software tier. This
means getting the OS for them will be *very* expensive considering the
CPW is only 11.6 to 21.1 depending on processor.

That is why they are so cheap on eBay right now. Buy them for parts
but I don't recommend a P20 CISC machine for personal use...

Doug

PS - The last I checked, for a P20 license for the OS, Query, SQL,
ADTS, and RPG compiler, the total is $46,650. But you better hurry,
I'm not sure how much longer you can order it!
