You might want to download the configurator (or find a new BP).  Go to
www.as400.ibm.com and choose CONFIGURE.  Somewhere in there you'll find an
option to download the configurator.  It's a pain in the (neck) to set up,
and it's kind of rickety, but you can play with different things (like
figuring out just how much that 740 you _really_ need would cost).

If you can't find the download, email me privately and I'll email you the
zipped file.
