Bob, It's fine when you offer advice, and you do it in a professional manner,
not like some of these fellows who retell how they saved the World Trade Center
every few weeks. When you start selling your products here, that violates the
integrity of the list, and people are very concerned with that. Look at what
happens when someone suspects that they are being spammed via this list.

off-line after that.

Actually, us vendors do NOT get a choice. If we do not follow this
guideline, David will ban us! BTW, I think it is a good rule. That way
there are NOT sales pitch's.

But there is also a positive side to having various Software Vendors on the
list. Some of us do some fairly strange stuff that a normal End User shop
would not be doing. Such as sockets (me and others), hard core security
exit points (Patrick Townsend), messing about with CD juke boxes (the folks
at MagSoft), ASCII spool files (Formation MG) and other things.

This way, when somebody does need to do one of these things, there is
somebody on the list who already has "cracked the nut"...such as doing
LODRUN from a CD. And a lot of other things.

And of course, we do provide solutions. And I feel that we also add value
to the list.

As for the "I'm looking for a job" posts, there is a list for that also.
Midrange-Jobs I believe.

Regards,
Bob Crothers
