Deb,
I am having similar problems with FTP and when I checked QSYSWRK, I noticed
QTCPIP running but not QTCPMONITOR. What exactly is QTCPMONITOR?

TIA

Do a netstat, option 3 and see if you have a job called FTP-CON (should be
in listen mode).

Also, if you wrkactjob you must see a qsyswork with qtcpip and qtcpmoniter
active.

If you do a strtcp this should start FTP.

I can ping the AS400 from my network workstation, but when I try to open a
connection it says 'connection refused'. The Qserver sbs is running
showing some TCP jobs. Does anyone know what I need to configure or start
to make this work? I don't get to the point where you enter a signon so I
know it is not an authority issue.
Thanks
