I am using the IBM supplied backup program and I do realize that it will not
back-up active objects. The backups are completing, but the dsplog shows
these six files not being backed up.

I guess my question is: what are these files and why are they suddenly
running?

What kind of backup are you doing? the ibm supplied backup Program?
Or are you doing them yourself.

The IBM supplied backup program will not save things while they are active.

So are you backups actually completeing? but just saying that they failed.
dsplog to find out.

Do You really need to be saveing these files?
if not don't wory about it.
otherwise do a save while active on that library.

email me if you need more info, i will be glad to help.

I have an AS-400 9406, 600 running V42. My backups are not completing so I
have run them to log and found that I have 12 diagnostic messages resulting
from six errors.

The six errors are all very similar and have to do with a specific job -
043617/QPGMR/QSERVER

The actual message reads:
-MESSAGE "Cannot allocate object for file (see list of the six files below)

in QUS

RSYS
-CAUSE "

The save operation was not performed for member (file name) in library
QUSRSYS type *FILE, because it is allocated by job 043617/QPGMR/QSERVER.
Recovery...Try the request again when the object is avalable.

Can anyone offer some in

sight before calling IBM pay support
