Three+ years ago, Celestica was a wholly owned subsidiary of IBM.  The
facility in Toronto used to be IBM Manufacturing, Canada.  They made
products such as: Selectric typewriters, 029 and 129 keypunch, 5250
terminals, assembled System/34s, power supplies, memory dimms, PCMCIA cards.
(Their very first product B4 the 70's was a cheese slicer)

They implemented BPCS to facilitate becoming independent from IBM ( I was
there approx. 9 months off and on as a BPCS consultant ), and have since
become a separate company.  Don't know if IBM still has any ownership.

The news says that the Canadian company Celestica is a spin off of IBM
Canada. Do IBM own part of Celestica then?
