System exposure to disk outages w/9337 in separate ASP

We currently run all internal 660* DASD with the exception of a single 9337-580
in which all it's disk units are in a separate ASP.  The ASP contains only test
libraries that are not critical to the operation of the business. All disk on
the system is RAID-5 protected.

Should we have any failure beyond a single disk on the internal DASD (ie, an
IOP), I'm reasonably confident IBM would have it fixed rather quickly and our
system would be back up and running (with no data loss I believe).  (Any
comments on this, pro or con, are welcome).

However, if we had a failure on the 9337 (beyond a single disk unit), could we
expect the same quick replacement time?

Also, I assume a complete failure of the 9337 would bring the system down.  Is
this correct?  Even though we consider the data in its ASP non-critical, is
there anyway to have the system continue operation with those libraries simply
being unavailable?

If not, would we be able to IPL the system in manual mode, remove those units
from the configuration (and delete the ASP) at the same time, and get the system
back up and running for production work?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
