The following applies to V4R4 of Service Director:

GO SERVICE

Select option 1 (Change Service Director settings)

Page down until you find "Enable automatic PTF monitor"

If you don't want any PTF checking at all, change it from *YES to *NO

If you do want PTF checking done, but don't want the PTFs actually
downloaded, leave "Enable automatic PTF monitor" as *YES but change
"Download PTFs" to *NO or *CVRLTR.

There is help text behind these parameters to explain them further.
