This is convoluted but it works without having any of your own code already
on the box and uses only the remote SQL server. My implementation used the
Java Toolkit and JDBC.

1) Create a PF in QTEMP to hold the SAVF data. (RECL = 528)
2) Create a SAVF in QTEMP.
3) Insert all of the SAVF data in the PF.
4) Create a SRC-PF in QTEMP.
5) Insert a REXX program into the SRCPF to copy records from the PF to the
SAVF.
6) Run REXX procedure.
7) Restore the SAVF.

Refer to the ODBC programming manual for how-to on running commands from
ODBC (same for JDBC)

Subject: Uploading a SAVF from a PC without FTP?

Hi,

How can I upload a save file (*SAVF) from a PC to the AS/400 without using
FTP? It seems like all the file transfer commands I found wants to upload
it to a physical file. I can't wait until I am on a network.

Thanks in Advance.
Steve Cross
