well, i think most major industries have, for the most part. they have
mis people on staff, and they understand what's at stake. but there
will be spotty problems that should be dealt with. but after all, we
live every day with imperfect software. well, at least some of us.

the people that will be hurting i suspect, are small companies, that
really don't understand the total implication of what's required.

several months ago i was at a business that had a p/c network, running
dos software. i asked if they were y2k compliant, and their answer was
they installed the y2k compliant 'netware'. i asked if they'd checked
into their application software, and they looked at me funny.

or the guy that sells us our forms, just a month or so ago, he mentioned
that he was going to upgrade his p/c from windows 3.1 so he'd be y2k
compliant.

or folks that get a bios tester, and think if that checks out, they have
it made.
