I was sitting with Kent Milligan at the Data Base table at CUDS at experts
night and a guy
came up and blew me and Kent away saying that he implemented READ level
triggers.

He found out which MI programs were evoked for a DB read event and somehow
"PATCHED" the system File object to fire a trigger program on a READ
operation.

I don't know how he did it. I knew Kent walked away saying "There are some

sharp people out there, Jeez".

So it can be done.

Hi all,

Can I track READ operations on a file like trigger programs(which triggers
only for INSERT/UPDATE/DELETE operations.) My requirement is to execute a
program when a READ operation happened on a file. Any suggestions/Ideas to
achieve this.

Thanx
