  • Subject: AW: Mounting NT directories on IFS?
  • From: Wiesmayr Rudolf <Rudolf.Wiesmayr@xxxxxxxxxxx>

Hello David!

We use a NT 4.0 Server with Hummingbird NFS on it to share files
among NT and AS/400 machines in our production environment in our hospital.

From the AS/400 we do a

AddMFS Type(*NFS) MFS('SERVERNAME:/dir/dir') MntOvrDir('/logicalname')
       CodePage(*BINARY 819)

to mount to a NT Server named SERVERNAME,
get to its directory /dir/dir
and materializing a link in the IFS root dir named logicalname
pointing to the NT directory.

HTH

A system admin's life is a sorry one. The only advantage he has
over Emergency Room doctors is that malpractice suits are rare.
On the other hand, ER doctors never have to deal with patients
installing new versions of their own innards!
