I have the key on the READE. The key value = "T" and the returned value =
"W". %eof is not = '1' and an indicator in the EQ column is not set on. I
changed the program to compare the key value with the file returned value to
fix the known problem. But we use this style a lot. What else is broken
and returning invalid results on our programs. I hate to think about it.
Hans what do you have to say about this?

The file has six key fields and we reade on 1,2,3,4,5 or all 6 fields. Now
I am setll and reade on the first field in the file and getting invalid
results. Same with 2-6 fields in the key lists. I have checked the key
list and they match the file. The file is a joined logical.

Debbie, I did read your post, but I am reading with key list. This is truly
a bug in my mind. I have been search IBM service web site and have not been
able to find an APAR or PTF out there.

About a week ago I sent an e-mail in reference to a program working
correctly on v3r2. The code is written in RPGLE. The program had been
tested thoroughly. We moved it to our v4r1 box and it did not work. It
was the same thing SETLL and READE. We had to put a key on the READE. I
guess no one pays any attention to me.
