If the date range is based on the current date, you could calculate it. In
Query you can define a result field that is the current system date as a
native date field. You can then add/subtract days, months, years from/to it.
The function is CURRENT(DATE). You can also use CURRENT(TIME),
CURRENT(TIMESTAMP), etc.

You can use the DATE() and CHAR() functions to convert a character field to
a date and vice versa, so you can use these to calculate 1st and last day of
a month.

Or you can use Query Manager queries, which do allow passing parameters.
