RE: AS/400 Based EDI Solutions

I had EDISOL.  Never fired it up.  We were given a free copy.  We liked 
Premenos so
much we stayed with that.  My biggest problem with EDISOL is that SSA wasted 
their time 
on an EDI translator/communicator when they should have been putting the time 
in getting 
from EDI standards (either ANSI X.12 or EDIFACT) from/to BPCS.  The ideal 
business 
solution would have been to keep it generic and recommend a few packages.  Or, 
worst 
case, partner with one vendor.  Leave it up to SSA to redefine worst case.  
It's mistakes
like these (such as developing your own C/S development environment), that have 
knocked 
SSA to their knees.

Harbinger returned rights to EDISOL back to SSA and they are ending
support in the beginning of next year.
